A viable and creative alternative to public or private school, we are a homeschool program with a strong sense of community. We aim to empower families toward a creative education for their children, giving each child the space to grow as an individual, family member, and citizen.
Our arts-integrated program is inspired by Rudolf Steiner’s insights on a holistic and spiritual education, and John Holt’s ideas about a child’s natural impulse to learn and discover. We provide individual and small group instruction and multi-age project studies. Children may explore Cultural Themes, Creative Writing, Handwork, Cooking, Studio Art, Music, Drama, Math, Language Arts, Spanish, Community Service Projects, Social Justice issues and more.
Children ages 8 - 12 may attend full or part-time Monday thru Wednesday. In addition to our classroom program, children ages 6 - 16 may choose to attend our Wilderness Skills Program in Fall and Spring, and to participate in any of our after school arts and music programs, including a newly developing Teen Program.
Support includes help with homeschooling paperwork and assessments, tutoring services, and ongoing communication regarding a child’s goals and progress during the year. Our goal is to offer enough programming and support to families so that the option of an inspired, participatory education becomes possible.
